January 12 lands early enough in the year that the Grand Prix Region board is still sketching out what the season's going to look like — the drives, the dates, the volunteers who make all of it happen. That's the real appeal of a board meeting. It's where the calendar gets built, budgets get argued over, and somebody finally says yes to the event you've been hoping for.
