F.A.T. Ice Race
The F.A.T. Ice Race began in Zell am See, Austria — the Porsche family's own town — reviving a 1950s tradition of racing on a frozen lake, complete with skijoring behind the cars. In February 2026 it crossed the Atlantic for the first time, to Moonlight Basin at Big Sky, Montana, with Porsche Cars North America as a partner.
It is a genuinely different proposition from everything else here: a winter motorsport weekend in a ski resort, at altitude, in the middle of the season. That last part is the thing to plan around.

The next F.A.T. Ice Race
Organizers have confirmed the Ice Race returns to Big Sky in 2027 but have not published dates. The 2026 edition ran February 27–28 at Moonlight Basin. If it holds to late February, that is peak ski season in Big Sky, and lodging there is more constrained than at any other event on this page.

Bozeman is about an hour north and is the realistic fallback, with the airport there. Book before the dates are even announced if you are serious about going.
