Late August in Colorado is about as good as it gets for an evening drive — long light, cooler air coming off the high country, and no reason to leave the car in the garage. Rocky Mountain Region PCA runs its Membership Social on the 27th, and the venue moves around, so the region announces where it's landing rather than parking at one spot all year. That's the nice part of a rotating social: you end up somewhere you wouldn't have picked yourself, with people who actually want to hear about your car. No tech inspection, no grid, no helmet.
