Late August in Nevada, and the workweek's almost done — Sierra Nevada Region Porsche Club runs Thirsty Thursday on the 20th, which is about the best excuse there is to drive the long way home. The venue gets announced by the region, so check their page before you point the nose anywhere. Midweek meetups have a different feel than a Saturday morning: smaller, looser, more actual conversation and less walking laps around a parking lot with a camera. Bring the daily driver, bring the one you've tracked, bring whatever's running. Nobody's judging paint. If you've been meaning to meet the local crowd, a Thursday's an easy way in.
