It's a welcome event for new members, and the hook is homemade ice cream sundaes — which, on an August afternoon in Cedar Rapids, is a pretty solid reason to show up. If you've just picked up your first Porsche and you don't know anybody in the region yet, this is the low-pressure way in. No grid, no tech inspection, no helmet.
