Where to Stay for Luftgekühlt 12 in Atlanta

Luftgekühlt 12 is Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Town at Trilith in Fayetteville, Georgia — about twenty-five minutes south of Hartsfield-Jackson. Gates at 9am for early admission, 10am general, with the official Welcome Party the evening before.

The lodging problem here is not the one Monterey has. Atlanta is a major metro with tens of thousands of hotel rooms and you will not struggle to find a bed. The problem is that Trilith is a purpose-built village of a few thousand people next to a film studio, and the number of rooms inside walking distance of the show is approximately one hotel.

Start with what is already gone

Trilith Guesthouse — the boutique hotel inside the venue itself — is listed as booked on Luftgekühlt's own lodging page. That is the only property you could roll out of bed and walk to the show from, and it went early.

Luftgekühlt has arranged a group rate at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Fayetteville, offered while supplies last. If you want the closest thing to an official block, that is it, and it is the first call to make.

The three realistic tiers

Tier 1: Fayetteville and Peachtree City (5–15 minutes)

Fayetteville is the county seat and a small one. Beyond the Holiday Inn Express there is a handful of mid-tier chains, and neighbouring Peachtree City adds more — it is a planned community about fifteen minutes west with a Hilton-and-Marriott cluster and, famously, ninety miles of golf-cart paths.

This is the tier to book if you want a short drive on Saturday morning and a short drive back after the Welcome Party on Friday. It is also the smallest tier, which is the whole point of booking it now.

Tier 2: The airport corridor (20–25 minutes)

Hartsfield-Jackson has one of the largest airport hotel clusters in the country — College Park, Hapeville, and along I-85 — and it sits directly between Trilith and downtown Atlanta.

For most people flying in this is the correct answer and not a compromise. You land, you do not rent a car for a long haul, rates are ordinary because these hotels are priced for business travel rather than events, and Trilith is a straight run down GA-74. The airport hotels are also the tier least likely to notice Luft is happening, which is exactly what you want.

Tier 3: Downtown, Midtown, Buckhead (35–50 minutes)

Stay here if the trip is about Atlanta and Luft is the Saturday. You get the actual city, and you pay for a Saturday-morning drive south in return.

One warning: judge the drive by the calendar, not the map. Atlanta traffic is Atlanta traffic, and a 35-minute route on a Tuesday afternoon is not a 35-minute route when something else is on.

The reason to check the calendar twice

Luft 12 lands one week after Motul Petit Le Mans, which runs at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta in Braselton from September 30 to October 3, with the ten-hour race on Saturday October 3. Braselton is north-east of the city and Trilith is south-west, so they do not compete for the same hotels — but they do bracket the same fortnight.

If you have the time, that is a genuinely good two weeks: a championship endurance race with Porsche in the GTP field on one Saturday, the best air-cooled gathering in the country on the next, and Porsche Cars North America's headquarters and the Porsche Experience Center Atlanta sitting between them, next to the airport. Nobody packages it that way. You can.

Booking notes

• Take the group rate if you want to be close. “While supplies last” on a small-town Holiday Inn Express means what it says.
• Otherwise book the airport and stop worrying. That tier will not sell out for this, and the drive is real but short.
• Friday night matters. The Welcome Party starts at 5pm on October 9 and is separately ticketed. Booking Friday and Saturday rather than Saturday alone is the difference between two drives and four.
• Display cars are curated, not registered. If you want your air-cooled car on the field, that is an application and it closes well before the event — a hotel booking does not get you on the grass.
